Some
stop-motion and 3D CG animation books we've reviewed and recommend: |
Creating
3-D Animation: The Aardman Book of Filmmaking
by Peter Lord,
Brian Sibley |
--
|
A
highly recommended book for who are interested in claymation. It's
much better than the later Chicken Run book. Some really inspiring
animation tips are revealed in the book, such as creating water flowing
effect with plasticwrap paper, which we borrrowed and used in making
Tai-Lang's Dream. |
Tim
Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas by
Frank Thompson |
--
|
An
eye-catching "behind-the-scenes" book. Not as detailed and
tutorial as Aaeman's book, but still a must have collection for Tim
Burton's animation fan. |
The
Animation Book by
Kit Laybourne |
--
|
This
"how to" book is not limited to a stop-motion animation,
but covers all different kind of animation forms and styles. A good
guide to the creative world of experimental animation. |
Dark
Alchemy: The Films of Jan Svankmajer by Peter Hames
|
--
|
A
critical book scrutinizing Jan Svankmajer's surrealistic art and application
of folk puppetry in his film from art scholor's point of view. |
Mastering
Maya 3 by John Kundert-Gibbs |
--
|
Computer
books are tend to become "old" and retired from your tutorial
book lists quickly because of the fast upgrading software and hardware
industry. This book has detailed instruction and is as useful as its
previous version, Mastering Maya 2, and could be last on your
computer desk for another year whether you are a beginner or an advanced
Maya user.. |
